Research Into Action Webinar: Developing a Productive Workgroup Within a Community Coalition: A Discussion on Capacity Building and Keeping Coalition Members Engaged

Wednesday, January 9, 2019: 2:00 – 3:00 PM EST

Dr. Jennifer Langhinrichsen-Rohling, Emily Blejwas, and Shearie Archer discussed their article entitled “Developing a Productive Workgroup Within a Community Coalition: Transtheoretical Model Processes, Stages of Change, and Lessons Learned”, which can be found in the 2018 special issue of Progress in Community Health Partnerships: Research, Education, and Action. This article presents their and their colleagues’ findings regarding best practices for productive coalition workgroups. The researchers documented their experiences participating in a coalition workgroup in order to improve health literacy of diabetes patients and improve communications between a health center and pharmacy regarding shared patients. Dr. Langhinrichsen-Rohling, Ms. Blejwas, and Ms. Archer discussed how their findings can help coalitions build capacity and keep volunteers and members across various sectors engaged in coalition work in their presentation.
