Submit to Host a Training at Mid-Year!

Call for Presentations – Adult and Youth Training Sessions

Submission Deadline: COB Monday, April 3, 2023

Has your coalition seen changes in community-level outcomes since the implementation of evidence-based environmental strategies? Has your Executive Committee uncovered the secret to effective coalition management and leadership? Did your coalition and its partner organizations conduct an education and advocacy campaign that led to a successful policy or system change in your community?

If you answered yes to any of these questions – or even if you answered no, but can offer a success story of your own, complete with lessons learned and tips for replication in other coalitions – CADCA needs you at Mid-Year.

This year’s theme is “Together Toward Tomorrow,” and as community change agents, we embrace this philosophy in our work to improve the quality of life in our nation’s communities. High-performing coalitions are those that have developed broad strategic alliances, implemented proven and promising strategies and achieved population-level change.

The Call for Presentations is open to all community coalitions, community-based prevention organizations, government agencies with a focus on substance misuse, mental health, criminal justice, public health, public safety, coalition sector member organizations and other organizations with an interest in substance misuse prevention and advocacy.

This year’s Call for Presentations submission form will be a little different than in previous years. These resources, including guidelines for writing a session descriptioninstructions for writing learning objectives, and a list of the questions available in this form will guide you in using the new form.

This year we are excited to hold a Call for Presentations for our CADCA Youth Leadership MYTI participants. The youth leaders that attend CADCA’s Mid-Year Training Institute are the forerunners in our coalitions to advocate and foster healthy communities. As youth involvement continues to grow, we want to ensure that we provide varied training opportunities to fuel their great work!

To submit a Youth Leadership Call for Presentation please click on the link below that indicates ‘Youth CFP Submission.’ The youth sessions are formatted as 3-hour interactive workshops and will be held throughout the week. In your submissions, please provide examples of activities and interactive training modules that you have utilized and seen to be effective for working with youth. We are so excited to receive your submissions and look forward to the amazing opportunities we will provide for our youth, together!
