In Western Kentucky, Graves County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy and Prevention (ASAP) is showing what’s possible when young people are trusted to lead. At the heart of their work is the Mayfield-Graves County Youth Council, a group of students who lead campaigns and events to further the coalition’s prevention efforts. 

Originally founded as the Monroe County Drug and Alcohol Task Force, the coalition has grown and evolved over the years, but its mission has always stayed the same: mobilize communities, parents, and organizations to prevent youth substance use and reduce overall misuse and dependency in Monroe County.

The Impact Foundation LA’s CV Youth Ambassador Program serves as an example of what can happen when young people are trusted and given the proper tools to lead.

For over 20 years, The Right Path for Washington County has been working hard to engage and empower youth in the state of Ohio. It was formed in 2003 when a State Incentive Grant brought the local behavioral health boards, juvenile court, and community leaders together to address how prevention services were being delivered in the county.

Every year, CADCA hosts a Dose of Prevention Challenge in partnership with the Consumer Healthcare Products Association’s Stop Medicine Abuse campaign. We are excited to announce the 2024 winner and runners-up of the 2024 Dose of Prevention Challenge.

It was late 2009 when the CRESER NGO team found a group of people interested in forming a community coalition under the CADCA model in the Las Palmeras community in the Yarinacocha district, Coronel Portillo Province, Ucayali Department, Peru.
