Increasing Your Coalition’s Outreach Capacity using Social Media to Promote Prevention Programs in Your Community

You’re online – and so are the individuals in your community! Social media is a powerful way to reach those in your community. In fact, for many communities, social media and online marketing have overtaken the former methods of reaching audiences (like billboards, newspapers, and TV commercials). While there is great potential to reach audiences online, it comes with the threat of drowning out your message in the ocean of content and “noise” of the social media environment. This webinar will explore ways to promote your coalition and prevention work through social media and stand out in that noise – including what to say, how to say it, how often to post, and when to post. You’ll learn some simple, free/inexpensive, and practical tools and resources to help engage the audiences you want to reach. There will also be a brief discussion on how to access and utilize evaluation outputs and outcomes so you can make informed decisions on your future promotions.
