Blue Ribbon Coalition Initiative

The Blue Ribbon Coalition (BRC) is the only community credential that recognizes coalitions demonstrating positive outcomes in substance misuse prevention. Established by CADCA’s Evalutation and Research division, it is nationally recognized by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, state and local governments, and has been awarded the ASAE Power of Associations Silver Award. The BRC initiative helps coalitions sustain and grow their prevention efforts by bridging the gap between training and long-term impact, providing a platform for them to showcase and refine their prevention tools through an annual application process. Awarded coalitions receive in-depth feedback, free development support, and a nationally respected credential that helps secure additional funding and partnerships—empowering them to keep making a difference in their communities. Since its inception in 2021, the initiative has recognized 60 coalitions across the nation for their commitment to evidence-based strategies and community-level outcomes.
