CADCA's international work mirrors its mission of "building and strengthening the capacity of community coalitions to create safe, healthy and drug free environments”. Through support from the United States Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, CADCA's international work has focused primarily upon providing training and technical assistance to non-government organizations (NGOs) in the area of core competencies for community mobilization to reduce illegal drugs.
CADCA's goal is to equip prevention leaders and others in foreign countries with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to build effective coalitions.
CADCA is currently working in 8 different countries: Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil and South Africa.

South African Coalition Leaders Visit CADCA Offices
A group of anti-drug coalition leaders from South Africa visited the CADCA offices in Alexandria, VA, on Dec. 3, 2010. The community leaders have participated in coalition training that CADCA has conducted in partnership with the U.S. Department of State in South Africa since October 2009.
