ONDCP Director Michael Botticelli to Address Community Leaders at CADCA Mid-Year, Releases New DFC Data

More than 1,500 substance abuse prevention and treatment specialists from across the country are convening in Indianapolis this week for Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA)’s 2015 Mid-Year Training Institute. The week-long training, held at the JW Marriott, teaches participants how to address one of our nation’s biggest public health challenges – youth drug use.

At the conference, attendees will get to hear from Michael Botticelli, Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

He will spend the afternoon with CADCA’s 200 youth from around the country who are participating in CADCA’s workforce development training, the National Youth Leadership Initiative (NYLI), where they’re learning how to become drug prevention advocates and powerful community leaders.

Media Opportunities:

Media are invited to interview the Director and some of our youth leaders from 3:15-4 p.m.

ONDCP will also release results of an evaluation of its federally-funded Drug-Free Communities coalitions.

Members of the media interested in covering any portion of the Director’s visit should contact Victoria Carlborg at 760-583-8780 or via e-mail at vcarlborg@cadca.org.
