WHAT: CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) celebrates its 18th annual Drug-Free Kids Campaign Awards Dinner by bringing together business, Federal, congressional and community leaders from across the country who support CADCA’s mission of creating safe, healthy and drug-free communities. Scott Melville, President and CEO of Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA), will receive the Humanitarian of the Year Award for his commitment to addressing the complex issues of medicine abuse and misuse and for CHPA’s 10 years of outstanding partnership with CADCA. The Honorable Mary Bono, Principal, FaegreBD Consulting, and former member of the U.S. Congress will receive CADCA’s Champion for Drug-Free Kids for her countless hours of leadership and service, both in and out of Congress, towards reducing drug abuse among America’s youth.
The Honorable Bill Johnson (R/6th-OH) will also address the 400 expected attendees. Youth leaders trained by CADCA’s National Youth Leadership Initiative, Ananth Ghosh and Jetter White, will speak about youth empowerment and their prevention work in their communities. Pat Lawson Muse, News4 anchor with NBC Washington, will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies.
