In the realm of substance use prevention, cultivating readiness for sustainability planning within community-based coalitions is paramount. This training aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to assess their coalition’s readiness for sustaining prevention efforts over the long term. By understanding the essential components of readiness that impact sustainability planning and recognizing the factors that influence coalition sustainability, participants will be empowered to develop strategic approaches tailored to their coalition’s unique needs and opportunities to leverage resources.

Training Objectives

  1. Assessing Readiness: Participants will learn how to conduct an assessment of their coalition’s readiness for sustainability planning, identifying strengths, and uncovering barriers.
  2. Developing Strategic Approaches: Participants will explore various strategies for sustaining prevention efforts to include resource mobilization, coalition capacity building, and community engagement, to develop tailored sustainability plans.
  3. Enhancing Critical Partnerships: Participants will learn about the partnership continuum and how to increase coalition capacity by enhancing and building collaborative partnerships.
