This virtual event will help you build skills to prepare, practice, and perform public speaking for a variety of topics and audiences. You’ll also learn how to be proactive and intentional about knowing your audience, as well as how to navigate setbacks, slip-ups, and freeze-ups. Whether you’re rallying peers, speaking at events, or advocating for policy change, public speaking is a critical tool that will help you make a lasting impact.

Objectives:

  1. Describe the various ways that public speaking skills will be useful in life, both now and in the future.
  2. Learn the importance of being proactive and intentional about how you show up, the language that you use, and knowing your audience.
  3. Build skills around preparing, practicing, and performing public speaking for a variety of topics and audiences.
  4. Increase confidence in how to navigate setbacks, slip-ups, or freeze-ups.
