Our initiatives are the driving force behind our mission to build safer, healthier communities. From national campaigns to youth empowerment programs, each initiative is designed to support communities in preventing substance use.

Liderazgo Juvenil
This program empowers young people to become effective leaders and effect change in their communities. Through training and mentorship, we help youth develop the skills and confidence needed to tackle important issues and nurture a new generation of leaders.
Blue Ribbon Coalition
This is the first community credential awarded to coalitions that have produced positive community outcomes in substance use prevention. Our award-winning program helps sustain the effectiveness of community coalitions and encourages continued use of best practices taught during the National Coalition Academy.
Dosis de Prevención
This initiative, conducted in partnership with the Consumer Healthcare Products Association, focuses on reducing prescription medication misuse through community education and action. We challenge communities across the country to promote safe disposal practices and raise awareness about the dangers of leftover prescription medications and over-the-counter cough medicine.

The Drug-Free Kids Campaign Awards Dinner brings together corporate supporters, federal partners, members of Congress and coalition leaders from around the country who are committed to reversing the tide of substance misuse. The Drug-Free Kids Campaign is a reminder of the incredible strides we have made together, and it provides an opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding achievements of our awardees, the dedication of our coalitions, and the indomitable spirit of our youth.
