The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is sponsoring a National Youth Leadership Initiative (NYLI) training facilitated by CADCA at the National Prevention Network Conference for the first time Nov. 17-19 in Seattle.
This training will provide 2.5 days of team leadership training. A total of 150 youth and 50 adult leaders in the youth track will be trained on evidence-based prevention strategies to reduce local problems and create positive community change.
The conference will highlight the latest research in the substance abuse prevention field. It provides a forum for prevention professionals, coalition leaders, researchers, and federal partners to share research, best practices and promising evaluation results for the purpose of integrating research into prevention practice.
The conference will cover timely topics in the substance abuse prevention fields that include alcohol, marijuana, opioids and prescription drug abuse, workforce development, and substance abuse prevention and collaboration with related fields.
