Congratulations to the 2024 Blue Ribbon Coalitions!

CADCA is proud to congratulate the 11 coalitions that were named 2024 Blue Ribbon Coalitions as part of Phase 1. The Blue Ribbon Coalition Initiative, created by CADCA’s National Coalition Institute (NCI) with funding from the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), offers coalitions the opportunity to gain national recognition for their significant contributions to community-level substance use outcomes. This credential serves as a testament to a coalition’s commitment to proven practices that lead to positive outcomes that transform their communities. In Phase 1, applicants submitted 7 products – 6 products demonstrating what they learned in National Coalition Academy (NCA) – community assessment, logic model, strategic and action plan, evaluation plan, evaluation communication plan, and sustainability plan – and a description of their coalition’s outcomes.

The award program was developed to help ensure the sustainment and effectiveness of community coalitions and help elevate the importance of coalition work. Since the Blue Ribbon Coalition Initiative was launched in 2021, 60 coalitions have been awarded. This year’s 11 coalitions moving on to Phase 2 included 2 coalitions each from Massachusetts and Ohio, and 1 each from Arizona, Tennessee, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Illinois, Connecticut and Louisiana. As the first and only community credential, this initiative represents a powerful tool the prevention field can support and leverage to demonstrate that getting ahead of substance misuse really works.

CADCA is delighted to unveil the 2024 class of 2024 Blue Ribbon Coalitions:
