Thursday, April 16, 2020 – CADCA along with its Aliança Geográfica de Equidade em Saúde is proud to partner with Ferramentas de contador to present this installment of the Research Into Action webinar series on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at 1 pm EDT on the topic, “Why Point of Sale Matters”. Elizabeth Gerndt, Project Director at Counter Tools, provided evidence on how the retail environment and point of sale play a huge role in the health of our communities, looking specifically at the impact of point of sale on e-cigarette and other tobacco product usage. She discussed industry spending patterns and retailer density, as well as consider the impact of the retail environment on quit attempts and youth tobacco initiation. Through this webinar, we hope participants gained an understanding of why policies and interventions that focus on the point of sale are key to decreasing tobacco use.
