Another year has come and gone, and as we move forward into 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the progress that we made last year. The 2024 Annual Report theme, The Power of Prevention, captures what we and our coalitions have achieved in communities across the country and around the world. From securing millions in federal funding for local prevention efforts to expanding our reach worldwide, this year solidified that prevention is necessary in every corner of society.
One of the biggest highlights of the year was the launch of CADCA’s Opioid Coalition Academy, which helped multiple Arkansas coalitions secure over $4.3 million in funding through the Drug-Free Communities grant. We also provided nearly 350 hours of training through our customized training services, with a 51% increase in adults trained compared to the prior year.
Beyond the United States, CADCA’s reach continued to grow, with the formation of 38 new coalitions globally and the formation of a new national association of community coalitions in Panama. Overall, we supported 293 coalitions in 24 countries, launched the inaugural Central Asia Community Coalition Forum, and introduced a Training of Trainers (TOT) Initiative, certifying 42 trainers from 19 countries to expand prevention education worldwide.
Investing in the next generation of prevention leaders was also a focus. The National Youth Advisory Council (NYAC) brought together 27 young leaders from 15 states and Puerto Rico in a year-long community of practice. Meanwhile, CADCA’s largest-ever Capitol Hill Day saw more than 2,100 people meeting with legislators to ensure that prevention remains a priority.
