On Wednesday, April 11th, Lisa Roberts, Coordinator at Scioto County Drug Action Team Alliance, OH, and Amy Haskins, Project Director at Jackson County Health Department, WV, will testify before the Subcommittee on Healthcare, Benefits, and Administrative Rules in the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee at 10 am in 2154 Rayburn House Office Building.

Roberts and Haskins will be addressing local responses and resources to curtail the opioid epidemic.

Leidos, a Fortune 500® information technology, engineering and science industry leader announced a partnership with CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) to promote local substance use prevention efforts.

CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) leaders will travel to Vienna, Austria to attend the 61st session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) held at the Vienna International Centre March 12-16. General Arthur T. Dean, Chairman & CEO, CADCA and Eric Siervo, Vice President, International Programs are scheduled to present at this year’s CND session.  CADCA Youth Trainer, Ananya Pati is also scheduled to attend.

CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) launches the CADCA Community, an online forum for CADCA members to participate in substance abuse prevention discussion threads, resources, and an opportunity to engage with CADCA all year long. The goal is to create a dynamic social network of prevention professionals, sharing experiences and information to reduce drug use in communities across the country.

CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America), the nation’s leading substance abuse prevention organization, will recognize Dr. Bertha K. Madras of Harvard Medical School with the National Leadership Award for her significant contributions made to the field of substance abuse prevention and her long-standing support to community-based drug prevention.

Approximately 3,000 community leaders will unite at CADCA’s (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) 28th Annual National Leadership Forum. The event will be held Feb. 5-8, 2018, at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center in National Harbor, Md.

Community leaders from across the country, including the Washington, D.C., metro area, are headed to Capitol Hill, Feb. 7th to meet with U.S. Senators and representatives from nearly 50 states to educate them about critical substance abuse issues. These Congressional meetings were scheduled as a part of CADCA’s (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) 28th Annual National Leadership Forum, the nation’s largest training event for substance abuse prevention and treatment professionals and researchers.

CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) announced Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) Acting Director Richard Baum will keynote the National Leadership Forum’s Opening Plenary on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018.

(CADCA) Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America and Addiction Policy Forum (APF) will enter a partnership to disseminate critical materials and resources  related to prevention, addiction and substance misuse.

Khiree Smith, J.D., accomplished CADCA Trainer, Venture Capital & Private Equity Attorney, Global Human Rights Advocate will serve as a keynote speaker at the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America’s (CADCA) 28th Annual National Leadership Forum held on February 6, 2018. Smith’s experience as a CADCA youth and Youth Lead Trainer--coupled with his extensive knowledge of the prevention field and his personal story--will motivate and inspire attendees to redouble their commitment to our movement and their communities.
