Opioid Coalition Academy

CADCA’s Opioid Coalition Academy is a comprehensive three-week training and technical assistance program designed to strengthen local responses to the opioid crisis. Built on a proven model, the Academy equips coalitions with the tools and strategies needed to address opioid misuse across the continuum of care including prevention, harm reduction, and treatment. Participating coalitions work closely with expert trainers to develop plans tailored to their communities.

By the end of the training, coalitions will develop four key products:

  1. Opioid Community Assessment
  2. Three Tier Logic Model: prevention, harm reduction, and access to treatment
  3. Plan stratégique et d'action
  4. Plan d'évaluation

The Academy was first piloted in Arkansas, where it saw remarkable success. Of the 13 coalitions that participated, 11 applied for the federal Drug-Free Communities Grant, and 7 were awarded funding. In total, over $4.3 million in federal dollars were brought to Arkansas communities to support their prevention efforts.
