Description

Lights, camera, help! Sometimes it can feel overwhelming to be in front of the spotlight, communicating with the public about your community coalition work through the media or to large groups. But we need youth as our spokespeople – we need you. Young people can often be the most effective, authentic and impactful voices in our communities, especially once you master a few simple tools for getting your message out there. In this interactive workshop, we will learn and practice ways to craft and frame messages, present with confidence and authority, and have fun doing it. You can be your coalition’s most powerful voice!

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will be able to gain and practice public presentation skills including preparation, framing and effective use of body language, learn how to anticipate and disarm opposing views in debates and interviews and practice reading, connecting with and winning over an audience
