Using the Power of Partnerships to Create a Winning Team

Tuesday, February 4, 2020
3:30 PM
4:45 PM
Potomac Ballroom D

Description

Everyone wants to be on a winning team. In this session we’ll identify ways to engage underutilized sector members in coalition strategies and highlight successful collaborations and outcomes while building capacity. Participants will learn how to involve more sectors in their existing coalition activities and strategies, create new cross-sector initiatives, build momentum, communicate successful collaborations and outcomes to the community at-large, and sustain these efforts through ongoing member engagement and capacity-building. We’ll work interactively to identify who is missing, barriers that prevent inclusivity, incentives to get buy-in from hard to reach populations, and ways to partner youth and adults. Finally, we'll demonstrate ways to think outside of the sector box by identifying members’ personal skills, talents and attributes, and building meaningful relationships to achieve successful outcomes and a winning team spirit.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1) Identify ways to involve underrepresented sector members in existing coalition strategies.

2) Create new cross-sector initiatives.

3) Build momentum through relationships, incentives, and showcasing successes.
