Hector Araujo is the Manager of Youth Leadership for CADCA. In this role, he oversees national and international youth leadership programs for CADCA, which has a presence in all 50 states and 25 countries world-wide. The foundation of Youth Leadership relies on training and empowering youth to be change agents in their own communities by equipping them with the tools necessary to implement the Strategic Prevention Framework to create thriving, healthy and drug-free environments.
Prior to arriving at CADCA, Hector amassed 10 years of experience working with youth, nationally and internationally, in youth leadership, education and community and organizational development. During the course of his career, Hector served as an Education Specialist for the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, was a Congressional Candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives for the state of Arizona, served as a Senior Associate for National Partnerships and Strategic Communications at PBS and is an alum of the GEARUP Alumni Leadership Academy Fellowship under the U.S. Department of Education.
Hector is a native of Arizona, whose family emigrated from Sinaloa, Mexico. He speaks Spanish, and possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a double minor in Business Administration and Spanish from the University of Arizona. He loves competing in Ironman Triathlons, vibin’ to music and practicing Stand-Up at local coffee shops.
