Cassandra has nearly 10 years of experience working in various positions across the continuum of care from treatment and recovery, to now prevention and promotion. She has her degree in Psychology from Utah State University and is currently a Trainee as a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC-T). Prior to her role at CADCA, she served as a Community Development Specialist with the Western New York Prevention Resource Center, which is one of six regional centers throughout New York State funded by the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). She collaborated with community stakeholders in the eight-county region of Western New York in the development of new coalitions and supported established community coalitions as they work to reduce the use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Additionally, she provided technical assistance and training to both unfunded as well as DFC and state funded coalitions while supporting partnerships between prevention professionals, schools, and community groups.
