Selling Your Coalition
What do the Microsoft Corporation, Airbnb, Tom Brady, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Al’s Diner and your coalition all have in common? Each entity must successfully sell its products … or perish. Whether selling lifestyles, widgets, burgers, or healthy communities, each organization seeks to get their “customers” to “buy” their products. Using a social marketing approach, this session shows coalitions how to use the 5 P’s or marketing (product, place, promotion, price and packaging) to achieve their vision. Hands-on activities, tools and resources will be provided.
1. Describe the 5 P’s of Marketing and how they apply to the work of a coalition
2. Work with coalition members to clarify the coalition’s “products”
3. Apply the 5 P’s to their current outreach efforts
4. Network with other coalitions and obtain additional resources
