Help Your Community Prevent Impaired Driving Around Labor Day

Your coalition is invited to implement the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)’s national impaired driving enforcement crackdown, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” round out the unofficial end of summer around Labor Day.

NHTSA’s campaign goes into effect across the country from Aug. 19 to Sept. 7.

One of the deadliest and most often committed – yet preventable – of crimes [drunk driving], has become a serious safety epidemic in our country.

As law enforcement professionals and highway safety advocates, your efforts will help reduce the number of drunk drivers on the roads and save lives. By increasing state enforcement efforts, raising public awareness through paid, earned, and social media, and maximizing local resources, coalitions can make a marked difference in our national campaign to save more lives on America’s roadways.

NHTSA and CADCA will also soon debut an impaired driving prevention toolkit for coalitions to utilize year-round. Stay tuned.
