Coalitions in Action—The (Virtual) Reality of Administering Naloxone
Walmart and CADCA are partnering to increase the awareness and use of overdose reversal medications. Walmart has created a virtual reality naloxone training to discuss who should have it, where to get it, how to recognize an overdose when it is happening and how to administer naloxone. These naloxone awareness events have been hosted throughout the country to raise awareness, reduce stigma and demonstrate the important work coalitions are contributing to their communities.
Coalitions that have hosted their own naloxone awareness events include Alabama Department of Mental Health & Addiction Prevention Coalition of Birmingham, Appalachian SAC, Bonneville CTC, Community Impact North Carolina & People of Clay CARES, Drug Free Cecil County, Lexington One Community Coalition & DAODAS, Love Detroit Prevention Coalition & the Detroit Health Department, PACT Coalition and United Way River Cities & Community Connections.
In celebration of recovery month, check out the latest trainings, which are now available on CADCA’s YouTube channel.
