CADCA VetCorps Members Receive Presidential Service Award

Five CADCA VetCorps members were awarded the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) at CADCA’s 25th Annual National Leadership Forum. The PVSA, awarded in the name of the President of the United States of America, is the premier volunteer awards program, encouraging citizens to live a life of service through presidential gratitude and national recognition.

Patrick Palmer, Mignon Matthews, Sarah Dickens, Ariel David and Eileen Gentile were presented their PVSAs by CADCA Chairman and CEO Gen. Arthur T. Dean during a VetCorps session at the CADCA Forum. The awards recognized the CADCA VetCorps members for either their one year of service, 2,000 hours of volunteer service, or two years of volunteer service, which is equivalent to 4,000 hours.

In order for these members to receive these awards, CADCA VetCorps reviewed the members’ service hours and certified the volunteer hours. Now that CADCA is authorized as a “certifying organization” all volunteers serving with CADCA are eligible if they meet the requirements.

The award structure is designed to recognize individuals for their service through their volunteer journey. The structure is broken down by age and hourly requirements with four different levels of achievement. Our VetCorps members received the two highest levels of achievement, the Gold and Lifetime Service Award.

In addition to the five awards presented at CADCA’s 25th National Leadership Forum, 46 were sent to the award recipients who were unable to attend.
