Description

The National Institute of Health’s Helping to End Addiction Long-termSM Initiative (NIH HEAL InitiativeSM) is an effort to speed scientific solutions to end the national opioid public health crisis – reducing opioid misuse, disorder and overdose deaths in the US. Many HEAL projects supported by NIDA include stakeholder partners, and opportunities for community engagement. This session will provide an overview of several NIDA HEAL initiatives: 1) HEAL Prevention 2) Justice Community Opioid Innovation Network (JCOIN) 3) HEALing Communities Study. Presenters will provide an overview of the research aims for each initiative and highlight partnership and community engagement opportunities.

Learning Objectives

Attendees lean about the aims of the HEAL Prevention Initiative; Attendees will learn of the aims, objective and stakeholder opportunities for JCOIN; Attendees will learn of the research objectives of the HEALing Communities Study.
