We\u2019re excited to announce that Susan Page, Washington Bureau Chief for EUA hoje<\/em>, will moderate a special panel discussion at CADCA\u2019s 25th Annual National Leadership Forum, entitled, \u201cOur Nation\u2019s Drug Policy: Past, Present and Future,\u201d featuring former \u201cU.S. drug czars\u201d.<\/p>\n

As the Washington Bureau Chief of USA Today, Susan Page writes about the White House and national politics. She\u2019s interviewed the past eight presidents (three after they left office) and covered the past nine presidential campaigns. She\u2019s reported from five continents and dozens of countries, from Vietnam and New Zealand to Saudi Arabia and China. She twice has won the Gerald R. Ford Prize for Distinguished Reporting on the Presidency. The White House Correspondents Association has honored her with the Merriman Smith Memorial Award for Deadline Reporting on the Presidency and the Aldo Beckman Award for coverage of the presidency. She has served as president of the White House Correspondents Association and of the Gridiron Club, the oldest association of journalists in Washington, as well as chairman of the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards and a juror for the Pulitzer Prizes. She currently serves on the U.S. Attorney General\u2019s media advisory group.<\/p>\n

The once-in-a-lifetime panel discussion will include five former directors of the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP):<\/p>\n

\n\u2022\u00a0Dr. Lee P. Brown, 3rd ONDCP Director under President Bill Clinton
\n\u2022\u00a0General Barry McCaffrey, 4th ONDCP Director under President Bill Clinton
\n\u2022\u00a0John P. Walters, 5th ONDCP Director under President George W. Bush
\n\u2022\u00a0Commissioner R. Gil Kerlikowske, 6th ONDCP Director under President Barack Obama<\/p>\n

Page will also lead a Q&A discussion with keynote speaker Michael Botticelli, the current acting director of ONDCP. Botticelli will provide a keynote address during the National Leadership Plenary on the morning of Feb. 3, which will be followed by the panel discussion.<\/p>\n

\u201cNever before have these leaders been on one stage together so we expect this to be a lively discussion about how our nation\u2019s drug policy has evolved and where it\u2019s headed,\u201d said Gen. Arthur Dean, CADCA Chairman and CEO. \u201cWith longtime journalist Susan Page moderating the discussion, I know it will be a rich dialogue that will inspire coalitions and answer pressing concerns they may have about drug policy.\u201d<\/p>\n
