Embora seja o segundo condado menos populoso do estado de Nova York, na \u00e9poca, o condado de Schuyler tinha:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Duas vezes a taxa estadual de pris\u00f5es de jovens por DWI<\/li>\n<li>Duas vezes a taxa estadual de les\u00f5es e mortes n\u00e3o intencionais<\/li>\n<li>Tr\u00eas vezes a taxa estadual de jovens em liberdade condicional com envolvimento com \u00e1lcool<\/li>\n<li>Uma alta taxa de jovens feridos em acidentes automobil\u00edsticos relacionados ao \u00e1lcool<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cPercorremos um longo caminho desde ent\u00e3o, abordando n\u00e3o s\u00f3 o abuso do \u00e1lcool, mas tamb\u00e9m o controlo do tabaco, o uso indevido de opi\u00e1ceos, o abuso de hero\u00edna e muito mais\u201d, diz Allen. No in\u00edcio desta semana, o CADCA teve a oportunidade de entrevistar Allen e o contato escolar, Kali Beilman-Martin, sobre as realiza\u00e7\u00f5es do SCCUDD.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>O condado de Schuyler \u00e9 uma comunidade pequena e pitoresca na regi\u00e3o de Finger Lakes, em Nova York, com uma popula\u00e7\u00e3o de menos de 20.000 habitantes. A comunidade est\u00e1 localizada no cora\u00e7\u00e3o da regi\u00e3o vin\u00edcola de Nova York e abriga um grande n\u00famero de vin\u00edcolas e destilarias. Onde outras coliga\u00e7\u00f5es podem ver esta realidade como uma barreira, o SCCUDD est\u00e1 \u00e0 altura do desafio devido aos seus membros \u00e1vidos, apaixonados e empenhados, muitos dos quais est\u00e3o envolvidos na vida quotidiana dos jovens do Condado de Schuyler.<\/p>\n<p>O objetivo do SCCUDD \u00e9 prevenir, reduzir e retardar o in\u00edcio do uso de subst\u00e2ncias entre os jovens do Condado de Schuyler, colaborando com parceiros comunit\u00e1rios, promovendo a educa\u00e7\u00e3o preventiva e atividades livres de subst\u00e2ncias e implementando estrat\u00e9gias ambientais. Algumas de suas maiores conquistas incluem:<\/p>\n<p><em><u>Schuyler Adolescentes contra \u00c1lcool, Nicotina e outras Drogas (STAND)<\/u>: <\/em>A coaliz\u00e3o de jovens do SCCUDD, STAND, foi lan\u00e7ada na primavera de 2015, depois que o SCCUDD patrocinou um treinamento Lead &amp; Seed na comunidade, e os alunos t\u00eam estado ocupados desde ent\u00e3o! Uma de suas atividades recentes foi criar e divulgar o <em>Pesquisa Vozes da Nossa Juventude<\/em> atrav\u00e9s da colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com Estudantes Contra Decis\u00f5es Destrutivas (SADD). Esta pesquisa foi elaborada para obter uma melhor compreens\u00e3o das cren\u00e7as e pr\u00e1ticas dos alunos em rela\u00e7\u00e3o ao consumo de \u00e1lcool. Participaram 68 alunos do 7\u00ba ao 12\u00ba ano, e o seu feedback foi apresentado num f\u00f3rum comunit\u00e1rio durante o M\u00eas de Conscientiza\u00e7\u00e3o sobre o \u00c1lcool. \u201cGostamos de basear as nossas interven\u00e7\u00f5es e iniciativas nos resultados dos inqu\u00e9ritos e noutros dados recolhidos\u201d, comentou Allen.
