Cole, a former Naval Officer, has 31 years of law enforcement experience, including 22 years at the DEA. During his tenure as a DEA Special Agent, he served in a variety of domestic and international posts, including Colombia, Afghanistan, and the Middle East. His final position at the DEA was serving as the Acting Regional Director of Mexico, Canada, and Central America.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Previously, Cole served the state of Virginia as the Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security, where he oversaw 11 state public safe agencies.
