5:15 PM

Description

As parents of the Love Detroit Prevention Coalition, we are painfully aware of the stress surrounding COVID-19 and how it has contributed to the increase in alcohol sales and consumption. During this session, you will learn the effects of alcohol on personal health and how it can impact families. Love Detroit Prevention Coalition will also share the tools their coalition parents used to develop ways to inform their community and identify safety guidelines for alcohol use and healthier coping methods.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1) Recognize how alcohol can be misused by parents coping with the COVID-19 pandemic, and the effects this can have on both parents and children in their homes

2) Identify safe coping mechanisms for parents and their children during the COVID-19 pandemic

3) Share how the parent sector of our coalition has conducted alcohol prevention activities virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic
