Through comprehensive multidisciplinary research, NIAAA is at the forefront of cutting-edge alcohol science. Thanks largely to NIAAA-supported studies, important strides have been made in understanding and addressing alcohol use disorder and alcohol-related problems. Today more life-saving tools are available than ever before; however, more work is needed. In this Power Session, NIAAA Director George Koob, Ph.D., will provide an overview of alcohol research in terms of diagnosis, prevention and treatment, and will highlight current and emerging resources at NIAAA that coalitions can share with their communities. Dr. Koob will also be available to answer questions.
