Uganda

CADCA conducted a tailoring visit in Kampala, Uganda, in September 2017, joining forces with a local non-government organization, Uganda Youth Development Link (UYDEL) to develop a community coalitions in the capital city. Trainings for two community groups, Nansana and Bwaise, began immediately the following month. As of October 1, 2019, CADCA has delivered four trainings and two technical assistance sessions to those communities. The coalitions, which formally launched at the beginning of 2019, graduated CADCA’s Training of Communities curriculum in September 2019. In 2020, CADCA hopes to conduct a technical assistance visit to those communities and, utilizing its Training of Leaders approach, expand the network of coalitions in Uganda from two to seven communities.

The two active community coalitions in Uganda are:

  • Bwaise Drug Free Coalition
  • Nansana Division Coalition Against Drugs
