South Africa

CADCA has been helping establish community coalitions in South Africa since 2015 in partnership with the South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (SANCA). CADCA has trained local communities on coalition development, providing them with evidence-based strategies and other tools necessary to achieve population-level reductions in substance use and misuse rates. Currently, there are 13 community coalitions representing the following communities:

  • Mzamomhle
  • Scenery Park
  • Ethekwini
  • Alabama
  • Newcastle
  • Nongoma
  • Ezinketheni
  • Westernburg
  • Mandlanzini
