Get Moving on Marijuana
Regardless of the status of marijuana laws in your state, marijuana is still illegal, harmful and addictive for youth under 21. Don’t let your coalition fall into the “we’ll know what to do after the ballot measure” or “let’s wait until the rules are written” traps that limit your coalition’s ability to “move to action”. This session provides skills enabling you to engage coalition members to reach agreement on the key points related to the harms of marijuana for youth. These points constitute a “Position Paper” and talking points that can guide your coalition’s efforts to reduce youth access to and exposure to marijuana availability and promotion of Marijuana in the community. Hands-on activities, tools and resources will be provided.
1. Engage coalition members in developing a clear position on Marijuana
2. Develop a Marijuana Position Paper that can be shared in the community
3. Take specific action steps to implement your coalition’s objectives for marijuana
4. Network with other coalitions and obtain additional resources
