C&#039;est un opio\u00efde synth\u00e9tique qui est jusqu&#039;\u00e0 50 fois plus fort que l&#039;h\u00e9ro\u00efne et 100 fois plus fort que la morphine (DEA Fentanyl Factsheet, 2020). Aussi peu que 2 mg de fentanyl - l&#039;\u00e9quivalent de quelques grains de sel - peuvent \u00eatre mortels, en particulier pour les jeunes, les jeunes adultes ou d&#039;autres personnes qui n&#039;ont jamais utilis\u00e9 de fentanyl ou d&#039;autres opio\u00efdes (EMCDDA, 2011).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rteleft\"><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box;\"><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; font-family: tahoma, geneva, sans-serif;\">Des augmentations significatives des d\u00e9c\u00e8s par surdose impliquant des opio\u00efdes synth\u00e9tiques, en particulier du fentanyl fabriqu\u00e9 ill\u00e9galement, ont commenc\u00e9 en 2013 (Gladden, Martinez et Seth, 2016\u00a0; O\u02bcDonnell, Gladden et Seth, 2016\u00a0; O\u02bcDonnell, Halpin, Mattson, Goldberger et Gladden; 2017). De 2013 \u00e0 2019, le taux de mortalit\u00e9 d\u00fb au fentanyl et aux autres opio\u00efdes synth\u00e9tiques est pass\u00e9 de 1,0 \u00e0 11,4 pour 100 000 personnes, soit une augmentation de 1 040% (Mattson, CL, Tanz, LJ, Quinn, K., et. al., 2021). Et depuis 2020, les donn\u00e9es provisoires du syst\u00e8me national de statistiques de l&#039;\u00e9tat civil ont continu\u00e9 de documenter une tendance \u00e0 la hausse des d\u00e9c\u00e8s par surdose (Ahmad, 2022), largement due aux opio\u00efdes synth\u00e9tiques, tels que le fentanyl. On estime que d&#039;ici 2029, plus de 1,2 million de personnes mourront du fentanyl et d&#039;autres opio\u00efdes si aucune mesure n&#039;est prise (Rao, IJ., Humphreys K., Brandeau ML., 2021).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rteleft\"><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box;\"><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; font-family: tahoma, geneva, sans-serif;\">Les tendances r\u00e9centes en mati\u00e8re de d\u00e9c\u00e8s par surdose chez les jeunes impliquant du fentanyl ainsi que les r\u00e9cits individuels de trag\u00e9dies attirent davantage l&#039;attention sur ce probl\u00e8me pour les jeunes (Ahmad, 2022\u00a0; Hoffman J., 2022). Ces facteurs rendent la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d&#039;efforts de pr\u00e9vention primaire plus importante que jamais.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"rteleft\"><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box;\"><span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; font-family: tahoma, geneva, sans-serif;\">Compte tenu de l&#039;urgence et de l&#039;ampleur de la crise des opio\u00efdes, qui est actuellement aliment\u00e9e par l&#039;augmentation de la disponibilit\u00e9 de fentanyl hautement mortel fabriqu\u00e9 illicitement, il est essentiel de se concentrer sur la pr\u00e9vention primaire et d&#039;\u00eatre inform\u00e9 sur d&#039;autres travaux pour sauver des vies. Se concentrer sur les strat\u00e9gies de pr\u00e9vention primaire, telles que la sensibilisation et la promotion des facteurs de protection dans les \u00e9coles et les communaut\u00e9s, peut aider \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer les strat\u00e9gies plus larges utilis\u00e9es pour inverser l&#039;augmentation des d\u00e9c\u00e8s par surdose, telles que les partenariats de collaboration avec la sant\u00e9
