This course will discuss communication tools and strategies to effectively communicate community messaging through different media outlets. We’ll take a deeper look at social and digital media platforms for prevention awareness and education. We'll discuss the strengths and challenges of different platforms and share examples of campaigns designed to reach a wide range of targeted communities. In this interactive session we will break out the four main components of a media campaign and provide the tools for each attendee to create a personalized campaign strategy for their own organization based on current community outreach and prevention goals.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. establish communication goals

2.  develop a communication plan for their organization

3. determine the best platform to communicate messaging based on who they’re intended target is
