The restrictions included in Public Law 119-37 preciously passed the Senate in a 76-24 vote. The provision in the C.R. that was voted on August 8 has further delayed these restrictions until December 11, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Senator Budd introduced an amendment (Amendment 6747) trying to strike this provision that delayed the implementation of Public Law 119-37. CADCA coordinated a letter signed by 56 national\/state public health, public safety, consumer protection, and community groups signed onto a letter urging Senate leadership and members to allow for a vote on Budd\u2019s amendment and to support the amendment. The letter can be viewed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cadca.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Budd-Amendment-Coalition-Letter-08.06.26.pdf\">aqu\u00ed<\/a>. While a vote was held on Senator Budd\u2019s amendment, the amendment was not passed in a 61-32 vote.
