Khiree Smith, J.D., accomplished CADCA Trainer, Venture Capital & Private Equity Attorney, Global Human Rights Advocate will serve as a keynote speaker at the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America\u2019s (CADCA) 28el<\/sup> Annual National Leadership Forum held on February 6, 2018. Smith\u2019s experience as a CADCA youth and Youth Lead Trainer–coupled with his extensive knowledge of the prevention field and his personal story–will motivate and inspire attendees to redouble their commitment to our movement and their communities. The annual training event hosts an expected 3,000 prevention specialists from across the world, providing top-tier substance use and misuse training, networking opportunities, and insights from renowned speakers from the prevention field.<\/p>\n

\u201cKhiree is both legacy and a valued member of the CADCA family.\u00a0 He will bring a unique and enriching perspective to Forum attendees,\u201d said General Arthur T. Dean, Chairman and CEO, CADCA. \u201cSmith is a former youth member of a coalition, who pursued and attained an undergraduate degree from Hampton University and a law degree from Georgetown–while inspiring others of all ages by his hard work and commitment to excellence.\u201d Smith began his connection with CADCA at the age of 12, participating in CADCA\u2019s Youth Leadership Program–an initiative committed to strengthening the skills and capacity of young people to influence positive change in the communities where they live, learn and grow.<\/p>\n

CADCA\u2019s National Leadership Forum<\/a> is a four-day event packed with opportunities to learn the latest strategies to address substance abuse and hear from nationally-known prevention experts, federal administrators, and concerned policymakers. Forum brings together attendees representing coalitions from all regions of the country and across the world. Sector representatives include: government leaders, youth, prevention specialists, addiction treatment professionals, addiction recovery advocates, researchers, educators, law enforcement professionals, and faith-based leaders.
