Monday, July 15th
10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Texas 4-6

The presentation will address the cross systems collaboration to address the root cause of the gun violence and substance accessibility with the partnership of specialized education support for youth in need of recovery wrapping around victim services. The impact of trauma occurring in urban communities has severely impacted youth’s ability to gain sustainable education while residing in a community of norms to “hustle” and market drug activity.

At the end of the training session, the participants will be able to:

1. Participants will identify the key organizations that provide resources to victims of violence that have the capacity to service youth and families. 2. Participants will identify and develop methods on how to make initial engagement with families in midst of early trauma, specifically addressing emotional impact for the children 3. Participants will be able to apply strategies shared from others implementing within community
