Present research on the diversity of the communities we serve. Diversity is not just color, race or ethnicity but extends to religion, education, income and culture. Everyone has a culture and cultural is prevention. Present research on how culture impacts prevention. The difference between cultural appropriation and cultural humility and appreciation. How to ask permission to approach a community. How to assess (SPF) or listen to the needs of a community. How how to prepare/educate the coalition for integration of new members. Adapting New Member Orientation materials to be culturally aware. When to plan events based on the culture of your community eg: harvest time, sports season, Ramadan, Jewish or other religious Holidays, Tribal Customs. We may not be able to please everyone, but the goal is to at least be aware and respectful. How to get to know and engage effectively with people. How to be intentional and aware of our coalition and community members. Growing our love

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Know how to find and effectively engage with diverse populations

2. How and when to be  culturally aware, humble or competent.  How to tailor our prevention efforts

3. How to effectively engage those who are marginalized in our prevention efforts
