Youth Leadership Associate

Position Summary: The Youth Leadership Associate position requires various skills in youth development and outreach strategies, programmatic support, and administrative duties. This position will require excellent oral and written communications and technical and computer skills. This position requires a highly motivated and enthusiastic attitude. In addition, this position will be responsible for administrative and clerical practices to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Youth Leadership Department. This position will report to the Youth Leadership Manager.

Specific Duties: 

  • Ability and skills to effectively interact professionally with youth, clients, and potential funders
  • Work with the Youth Leadership Manager and trainers on maintaining training materials such as PowerPoints, workbooks, manuals, and other instructional materials to ensure they are current and updated as needed
  • Ability to train on youth development curriculum, including the CADCA Youth Leadership curriculums
  • Ability to manage and develop CADCA youth trainers
  • Track, process, and respond to all requests and inquiries for training and/or training support
  • Update and manage the departmental calendar and training schedule
  • Create contracts and manage invoices with the finance department for all training
  • Support Youth program staff, consultants, and In-country coordinators with logistical needs, including contracts, travel, lodging, and other tasks as needed
  • Assist with the development and dissemination of Youth Programs publications and training materials
  • Assist the Youth Leadership Manager with the development and coordination of presentations and exhibits at events such as national & international conferences; Coordinate our 2-major conference each year with over 500 youth in attendance per conference
  • Plan and coordinate all training/meeting logistics pre and post-event.  Ensure efficiency from the initial planning to onsite execution, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, arranging travel and lodging for staff and consultant trainers, updating workbook as needed, securing evaluation and assessment materials, and developing training schedules and producing training collateral material, etc.
  • Ability to utilize and manage project management and learning management system (LMS/ Monday.com, Docebo, etc.) with uploading course content, generating reports of training programs, creating contracts, and using automation.
  • Upload content to the youth page on the CADCA website
  • Interface with customers hosting onsite training to ensure all logistics and accommodations have been secured per training design or requirements
  • Research relevant information about individuals, corporations, foundations, government, and youth funding entities to support the department’s goal to increase Youth Leadership revenue
  • Assist with grant writing and other technical writing and proposal development associated with achieving department responsibilities as it relates to youth leadership initiatives and grants
  • Compose, prepare, and ensure timely responses to a variety of written and telephone inquiries for both internal and external customers
  • Use innovative outreach strategies to develop and expand the existing program
  • Assist Youth Leadership Manager in problem-solving, project planning, and execution of stated goals and objectives
  • Support the implementation of youth prevention programs and initiatives
  • Prepare or assist with the preparation of scheduled and/or ad hoc statistical and narrative reports, including budgets and budget narratives
  • Coordinate and perform a range of administrative and operational support activities for the department and interface with other departments in performing day-to-day accountabilities
  • Develop and organize training materials, instructional guides, schedules, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials
  • Assist with special projects and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Training and Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree required and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities
  • Experience working in prevention, community involvement, mental health, and substance abuse work
  • Training experience, preferably with youth, preferred

  • Experience with online meeting software: MS Teams, Zoom, Canva, etc.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and work with a team
  • Strong problem-solving and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective and efficient project and database management skills
  • Ability to offer creative and innovative ideas and solutions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in reference to pertinent and sensitive information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, Prezi, and Social Media Platforms
