Business Development Manager – New Industry Alliances

Department: Business Development and Membership  

Reports to: Vice President Business Development Manager

Employment Status: Full-time, exempt

Location: 625 Slaters Lane, Suite 300, Alexandria, VA 22314

Position Summary

The Business Development Manager – New Industry Alliances works with the VP of Business Development and the Business Development and Membership team to pursue, secure and manage client relationships, which increase CADCA’s industry footprint, support CADCA’s mission, and obtain revenue.

  • Research industries and related events to identify synergies between potential new partners and CADCA’s mission
  • Work with the Business Development team to grow and manage CADCA’s partner pipeline
  • Assist in maintaining current, and building new relationships and strategic alliances with corporations, businesses, foundations, and individuals
  • Develop and deliver custom presentations
  • Support the Business Development team with partner solicitation and cultivation
  • Serve as a liaison to external partners, including representing CADCA at national, regional and local meetings
  • Work with the Business Development team and other CADCA departments to ensure project deliverables are being achieved
  • Manage communications to ensure partner stewardship and satisfaction
  • Work with the Business Development Team to secure support for CADCA’s annual campaigns and events including the Drug-Free Kids Campaign Awards Dinner, the National Leadership Forum, and the Mid-Year Training Institute
  • Lead the implementation of donor recognition and stewardship activities
  • Manage Business Development content on CADCA’s website
  • Work with the Communications team and other CADCA teams to regularly apprise the Business Development and Membership teams’ goals and successes  
  • Assist with special projects
  • Work with CADCA’s IT department and lead the implementation of a new CRM database
  • Work closely with CADCA’s Membership team to promote CADCA’s new membership category, Friend of CADCA
  • Participate in the Business Development and Membership team’s short and long-term strategic planning
  • Other duties as assigned

  • CRM database experience

Training and Credentials

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field; and/or five years experience directly related to the specified duties and responsibilities

Amount of Travel: 20 - 25% Annually
