Associate, Youth Leadership

Department:   CADCA Training Operations

Reports To:    Manager, Youth Leadership

Employment Status:  Full-time Exempt

Location: 625 Slaters Lane, Suite 300, Alexandria, VA  22314* Out of state telework is not optional with this position


Position summary: Under supervision of the Manager, the Youth Leadership, this Associate position requires a variety of skills in youth development and outreach strategies, programmatic support, and administrative duties.

Specific Duties: 

  • Ability and skills to effectively Interact professionally with youth, trainers (youth and adult), clients and potential funders
  • Ability to support training on youth development curriculum including the CADCA Youth Leadership curriculums
  • Ability to manage and develop CADCA youth trainers
  • Track, process and respond to all requests and inquiries for training and/or training support
  • Create parameters, contracts and manage invoices with the finance department for all trainings
  • Support Youth Leadership staff, consultants, and In-country coordinators with logistical needs, including contracts, travel, and lodging and others tasks as needed
  • Assist with the development and dissemination of Youth Leadership publications and training materials
  • Assist the Manager, Youth Leadership with the development and coordination of presentations and exhibits at events such as national & international conferences; Coordinate our 2-major conference each year with over 500 youth in attendance per conference
  • Help with the materials for all YL International trainings with the International department (All materials are printed inhouse)
  • Plan and coordinate all training/meeting logistics pre and post event.  Ensure efficiency from the initial planning to onsite execution which may include but is not limited to scheduling planning meetings, arranging travel and lodging for staff and consultant trainers, developing training schedules and producing collateral material, etc.
  • Interface with customers hosting onsite trainings to ensure all logistics and accommodations have been secured per training design or requirements
  • Research relevant information about individuals, corporations, foundations, government and youth funding entities to support the department’s goal to increase Youth Leadership revenue
  • Assist with grant writing and other technical writing and proposal development associated with achieving department responsibilities
  • Compose, prepare, and ensure timely responses to a variety of written and telephone inquiries for both internal and external customers
  • Use innovative outreach strategies to develop and expand the existing program
  • Assist Manager, Youth Leadership in problem-solving, project planning and execution of stated goals and objectives
  • Prepare or assist with the preparation of scheduled and/or ad hoc statistical and narrative reports including budgets and budget narratives
  • Coordinate and perform a range of administrative and/or operational support activities for the department and interface with other departments in performing day-to-day accountabilities
  • Develop and organize training materials, instructional guides, schedules, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials
  • Assist with special projects and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Upload content to the youth page on the CADCA website


Training and Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities; prevention or community involvement experience
  • Training experience, preferably with youth, preferred
  • Proficiency in a second language, highly preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to practice time management, good organization and prioritization skills in a fast-paced work environment

  • Ability to offer creative and innovative ideas and/or solutions
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in reference to pertinent and sensitive information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, Prezi and Social Media Platforms
