This presentation will provide an overview of the connections between adolescent and young adult cannabis use, student engagement and motivation, various academic outcomes in both high school and college and employment in adulthood.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

1) Understand how marijuana use affects cognitive function and motivation to succeed academically.

2) Describe the evidence regarding the relationship between adolescent marijuana use and academic performance in high school and later outcomes in adulthood (e.g., enrollment in college, employment).

3) Understand the connections between college student marijuana use, skipping class, grade point average and delayed graduation.
