Leah joined the CADCA team in 2017 as the Senior Associate for the Geographic Health Equity Alliance (GHEA).  GHEA is a national network aiming to address geographic health disparities relating to tobacco and cancer prevention initiatives.  As GHEA’s Senior Associate, Leah supports GHEA’s Director in the implementation of strategies that reduce health disparities related to tobacco and cancer, assists in developing a variety of communications and training products, as well as implements processes and systems for measuring the reach and impact of GHEA’s work, among other duties.

Prior to joining CADCA, Leah served as a contract Review Administrator in the Division of Grant Review at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).  In that role, Leah was responsible for overseeing the peer review process for competitive grant applications that were submitted to SAMHSA.  While in her role as Senior Associate within GHEA, Leah continues to oversee the provision of crisis intervention services on a sexual assault hotline.  She also maintains her post on the board of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention – National Capitol Area Chapter.

Leah received her Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.  While in school, Leah served as a Program Evaluator at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, working to evaluate a treatment program aimed to reduce the internalized stigma of psychiatric care. 

In her free time, Leah enjoys training for and running marathons.  She has run five to date and hopes to run five more in the next five years.
