Attention substance abuse prevention leaders: Head to your computers now because online registration for CADCA's 2010 National Leadership Forum is now open! What started as a 200-person meeting has now become the nation's largest meeting for substance abuse prevention, treatment professionals and researchers, attracting nearly 3,000 people from across the country each year. Forum 2010 will take place at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center, right on the banks of the Potomac River and just minutes outside Washington, D.C. Feb. 8-11, 2010.
This year's theme, “Coalitions At Work: Restoring Communities,” focuses on what community coalitions do best—mobilize communities and implement grassroots strategies. Make sure to arrive on Sunday, February 7 so that you don’t miss SAMHSA/CSAP’s Community Prevention Day and CADCA’s Welcome Reception on Monday.
Forum 2010 promises to be our most exciting Forum yet, with bigger and better workshops, more networking opportunities and a special event to commemorate our 20th anniversary. In addition, we have changed the format of our Federal Town Halls to make them more interactive and engaging.
The more than 100 sessions and 12 tracks will cover a wide range of topics, such as innovative prescription drug abuse prevention strategies, underage drinking prevention, countering marijuana social norms, evidence-based practices, the minimum legal drinking age, community reentry models, research to practice, grant writing, media literacy, social media, medication assisted treatment, evaluation and the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF).
So, whether you're a seasoned community coalition leader or a newcomer to the field, this year's National Leadership Forum is the one event you won't want to miss!
Click here to register now! Hurry – early registration ends Dec. 18th.
