Chemistry is defined as the science of matter and the change it undergoes. Similarly, communities can achieve long-term, systemic change when their leaders combine the compounds of broad-based alliances working together towards common goal with the elements of quality, skills-building trainings. Our 'scientists' may write this formula for success as CADCA + Coalitions = Formula for Community Change, the theme of our Mid-Year Training Institute July 24-28 at the Hyatt Regency Orange County in Anaheim, Calif.
CADCA’s Mid-Year Training Institute is the only intensive, coalition-specific training opportunity of its kind, providing in-depth courses specifically designed to address a community leader’s biggest concerns and obstacles. Participants take part in half-day, one-day and two-day courses on everything from how to run a community anti-drug coalition to how to implement environmental strategies. The format of the training allows for small group work, real practice and knowledge application—the kind of adult learning experience that has been shown to be effective.
