Do you want to raise awareness of the dangers of prescription (Rx) drug abuse and over-the-counter (OTC) cough medicine abuse, and enter in a drawing for a free iPad? Then take part in the CADCA 50 Challenge. By taking the CADCA 50 Challenge, not only are you automatically entered into a drawing for an iPad, but you also become eligible to apply for CADCA's Dose of Prevention award.
Through the CADCA 50 Challenge, we are committing ourselves to getting Rx and OTC medicine abuse on the radar screen of families across the country. But we need your help to do it, so we’re asking you to host a town hall meeting, or another type of educational event about medicine abuse, in your community. Your event must cover both prescription drug abuse and OTC cough medicine abuse.
All you have to do is host an event sometime between now and the end of the year. We encourage you to hold it during National Medicine Abuse Awareness Month in October so that we can unite and have an even greater impact.
So, are you up for the challenge? If so, here’s what you do:
1 – Visit www.stopmedicineabuse.org and click on the “CADCA 50 Challenge” icon.
2 – Complete the online form to register your coalition in the CADCA 50 Challenge. The deadline has been extended until Dec. 1, 2010.
3 – Download online tools to help plan your event and utilize your new Rx Abuse Prevention Toolkit: From Awareness to Action.
4 – Download the video “Stopping Cough medicine Abuse in Your Community” for your event and order free educational brochures.
