New Publication Available for Weed and Seed Coalitions

CADCA, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Justice´s Community Capacity Development Office (CCDO), has developed a new online publication to help coalitions and Weed and Seed Communities craft better and more sustainable prevention and intervention strategies to improve the conditions in their communities.

Strategizer 51: The Weed and Seed Toolbox was primarily designed for community organizations that are part of CCDO’s Weed and Seed Initiative, a comprehensive multi-agency approach to improving law enforcement, crime prevention and neighborhood restoration. However, any organization attempting to prevent or reduce drug abuse and its related problems will benefit from this publication.

In addition to updated Weed and Seed guidelines, Strategizer 51 includes information on evidence-based strategies, evaluation strategies, effective sustainability plans, helpful resources on where to find additional funding, and examples of how communities have addressed hard-to-tackle issues such as gun violence, methamphetamine abuse and prisoner reentry.
