To help spread the word that recovery from addiction is possible, CADCA will be taking part in Pro-Act's 9th Annual Recovery Walks! event on Saturday in Philadelphia, where thousands will walk 1.5 miles through the historic city center and Penn's Landing in downtown Philadelphia.
If you are planning to represent your coalition, please meet the CADCA team, donned in CADCA t-shirts saying: Prevention works, treatment is effective, and recovery happens in the community. CADCA can help. We will look for coalitions at 8 a.m. at the event starting line.
The rally is the hub event for National Recovery Month and is being co-sponsored by A&E’s Recovery Project. Thousands will walk show their support for individuals and their families in need of treatment for alcohol and drug addiction, celebrate those in recovery and honor organizations providing prevention, treatment, and recovery support services. Proceeds from the event are used to support community activities, educate the public and media, raise awareness, fight stigma, provide individual recovery support, and advocate at the state, federal and local levels.
Pro-Act is a grassroots organization dedicated to helping people affected by substance use disorders and their family.
Coalition walkers can also purchase CADCA t-shirts for $12.
